Confronting the Dark Forest Within
When we face life's struggle and fall into depression, the raw intensity of nature itself can provide an unconscious spark to help uplift us and move forward.
In our "Six Swans Jungian Analysis," we explore how a fairytale reveals profound insights into transformation, resilience, and the complexities of human emotions. Through a sister's silent endurance, a king's protective instincts, and the ultimate triumph of truth, we can also discover our own inner strength, sacrifice, and personal growth. The fairytale "The Six Swans" teaches us about the enduring human spirit, the transformative power of love, and the journey toward individuation and wholeness, offering valuable psychological insights into fear, joy, and resilience.

Amid the early 20th century's upheaval, both authors undertook personal and universal journeys into the psyche, employing active imagination to engage archetypes such as the shadow, anima, an...

    Gosh, this is beautiful I was badly abused as a child and live with it daily and am 58 this month and helping people where I can now who had CSA as a peer worker. Words don't work and action does .... your podcasts have helped me over the last few years. I add ... a wonderful artist in California a new friend 91 said this week to me that many therapists are concretizing the traumatic events: Instead, she wrote to me ... I want to know “what part of you survived…got you here, knows and is enraged you have been victimized and cares…is your guide, champions you…Get that established first and that becomes the witness who guides you “through” rather than stuck…concretized, in the trauma. On reflection reliving trauma and having innocence taken is a hard card to handle betrayal at its heights and yes a happy ending is the plan!

    I wondered if you could possibly discuss self harm at some point, I realize it's a very sensitive topic but it could be helpful to understand a bit more the deeper psychology around it, someone close to me recently self harmed. It would be interested to hear what your thoughts around it were anyway. Great podcast 🙏

    What he says as his end question about her father having died from MS and his concern about her not having genetic testing doesn't make sense. Epigenetics teaches us that we up and down regulate our genes with environment, health, food choices and monitoring stress levels so MS is usually caused by lack of nutrition. The hair in the food is his fear, The hair is like a symbol of a strand of DNA that it will digust him when he finds it in his food, a bit like finding the truth in the matter. But it's a projection of his fear, and not reality. Think forward: he's thinking about children and he's paranoid that his children will have MS.

    The Dreamer, whom we first meet as a boy, who is maturing as the dream progresses, is offered a bowl containing strings of hair. Now, as he's mature enough to think of having his own offspring, does he find the strings of hair offered by his mother, and strings of DNA offered by his girlfriend equally gross?

    At first trying to identify with one of the characters seemed at bit fancifull to me, but then it reminded me of a sesshin I did some twenty years ago. Our teacher asked us to write something about our experience on a piece of paper. While reflecting somehow Tolkien's story came to mind. The ring of power symbolizing the ego's closed desires, like a vicious circle, for gratification. The fire it needed to be thrown in the soul passion, its open desire for transformation. The practice being like an oven, with karmic material being the food cooked for a release of energy. A process only possible if done out of free will. Thus you could say that I identfied with Frodo at the time, an identification that was far from fancifull since it went to the core of my being and passion.

    What helped free me from the compulsion to 'blame' has been an extensive process of coming out of denial about the depth of emotional poverty I was encased in from the beginning. Experiencing those feelings which had always been there, but had been buried since childhood was terrifying, liberating, and gratifying. Drugs, alcohol, therapy, and now 12 step ACA have been my salvation. As always, the most substantive podcast I've engaged with online . 🙏

    I was engaged in active imagination...my Jungian analyst taught me the technique. One day while conversing with my "inner child" I had past life information revealed. As I was writing down the responses and information I was receiving from my unconscious while in the active imagination state. All of this information, names, places I worked and went to school, and places I lived were revealed. A few days later I traveled to these places in the South and experienced deja-vu and many synchronicities. All the facts and information given to me in my active imagination a few days prior was corroborated by evidence that I gathered. It was then that I realized that I am reincarnating Soul. The Self will go to great lengths to reveal our Spiritual Nature if we pay attention and are receptive. Prior to these experiences, I never believed in reincarnation...never even thought about it. Peace. Love this channel!

As I started to drive off , I saw a few cars coming in, the parking lot. There were 9 women that walked the same LABRYTHIN, who told me they , once a year met together , to walk it, as each of those 9 women , lost babies to STILLBORN . You can share this story, to encourage what you are talking / analyzing about. I love Deb's wisdom. It grew up in Pennsylvania with autumn becoming dark at dinner time and by winter darkness set in at 4 PM but I never felt a sense of depression. It was always a time for evenings at home doing some amazing art or cultural craft or cooking or baking or sketching or creating, Sewing and dreaming. As an adult I've taken this as an opportunity for more time around candlelight and the hearth and salt water baths and cozy soup and adoring the home. Even cold winter nights are opportunities for hikes by the moonlight, Bonfires, Or sketching garden designs for the Spring and planning what seeds to order. I think we only become depressed if we are constantly pushed into exhaustion by the chaotic unhealthy unnatural pacing of capitalism run a mock but if you run by your own internal natural rhythms of going to bed by 8 and waking up at dawn, then life is heaven.

But I'm interested to hear a more extensive analysis. It's a tiktok trend by the way a little convoluted and I don't think it's a fair thought experiment. 32:21 with enough self-inquiry the correct obstacle of the anger can be identified and addressed (and be relieved); finding the right place for the anger to land can alleviate the feeling of shame and help one to make adaptations or changes (whether within the self or the environment) that help one get traction, move along with forward trajectory in impeded by the obstacle that had initially led to the anger…this requires a period of containment (vs.venting) after the anger has been acknowledged to allow space for self-reflection

  • @saras.2173
    @saras.2173 5 днів тому

    I think part of the inner struggle with women is that we are natural nurturers and are expected to be nurturing (including by ourselves), and anger feels like an urge to destroy, which is the opposite of nurturing. So when we get angry, we feel simultaneously both our own judgment and society’s or our family’s judgment that we are being a “bad” woman or a problem. But if we don’t express our anger, there is this feeling like our needs aren’t important, don’t matter, and may never be seen or met by other people. Which leaves us feeling even more anger, and it builds until it blows.

    Well, he had a conflict with the church but now he looks for protection in it's basement because that is his familiarity and that is where we go when we get disoriented. But it's closed, it does not offer protection anymore because it's not his truth, it's in conflict with his internal truth. And who knows his internal truths? His most ancient and primordial parts, who can smell the lies and has the teeth to fight identified danger. And something terrible has happen. He had been disconnected with this part by civilisation and most probable church. And now this part as strange as it seems is back because the church doesn't hold any more powe to censor it. So maybe it's an integration moment
